Actress launched a newly revitalised government school in Haryana
Anushka Sharma on Thursday launched season three of “Support My School” campaign, which aims at revitalising government schools by providing toilets, access to water, facility for sports and recreation, and a clean environment. The launch took place at the newly revitalised Sonkh Government Middle School in Nuh District, Haryana. The actress along with members supporting the campaign launched the school in front of many students, teachers, principals and partners of various other schools that have been revitalised under the campaign. The launch took place a day before Children’s Day, which marks the birth anniversary of India’s first prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.
She also showed her “excitement” at associating with the entire initiative.
“I am very excited to be here today and celebrate Children’s Day in this particular school that has been revitalised by the Support My School Campaign.
“We need more such initiatives that focus on students’ needs of clean water, proper sanitation, facilities for sports and libraries, etc, so that these students get a holistic and hygienic upbringing, just like we all did,” the actress said in a statement.
