Raktakarabi bids farewell to spring

Chittagong-based music organisation Raktakarabi organised a programme of songs and poetry recitation bidding farewell to the season of spring at the port-city’s Nandankanon stage on Sunday. There were about twenty songs presented by the members of the troupe, mostly written by Rabindranath Tagore. Sheela Momen, a singer of Raktakarabi, began the evening with Tagore’s Chole Jay Bosonter Din. Soma Roy, Shuvrata Das, Priyanka, Palash Majumder, Purabi Barua and others also presented songs including Jodi Tare Nai Chini Go, Nobo Bosonter Dali, Aj Khela Bhangar Khela, and Rangiye Diye Jao Jao. Among the reciters were Uday Shankar Das, Zeenat Islam and Mubidur Rahman, who read out their selections from poems invoking the joy and beauty of spring.
