Movie Review: Go Goa Gone is funny roller coaster ride of craziness

Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Puja Gupta, Anand Tiwari
Directed by: Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D. K
Sometime back we have witnessed a serious Horror flick on Zombie-Genre called Rise Of The Zombie which met with not-so appreciating response from the Indian movie-goer’s. This week again we see a film which is made on the backdrop of Zombies, But this time, It’s a fun-filled comic caper.
Hardik (Kunal Khemu) is bored of his routine job and pressures while his other friend Luv (Vir Das) is frustrated in life especially when he got this news of his girlfriend is about to settle down with someone else. They both are looking for a way out while their another friend Bunny (Anand Tiwari) is about to leave for Goa.
Hardik and Luv joins Bunny for this extra ordinary ‘Business’ Goa trip which will soon turn out to be a nightmare for the trio especially after getting an invitation from Luna (Puja Gupta) for an underground rave party.
The exclusive rave party is organized by none other but our own Russian (Cum-Desi) Mafioso Boris (Saif Ali Khan). Yes! The same Boris who “Keels Dead Peepal”. All hell break loose when everyone are suddenly attacked by Zombies! (Dead Peepal, According to Boris).
Performance wise, Kunal Khemu rocks the whole show. With his charm and outstanding punch-liners, Kunal is just hilarious. Please stay silent when Kunal explains (Or tries to explain) the rest two friends about Zombies, Globalization, Love Funda’s, Plans etc.
Vir Das and Anand Tiwari are just superb and mind blowing at the same time. I will not reveal the ‘Screen Time Frame’ of our own Desi-Russian mafioso Saif Ali Khan as that might ruined your taste.
But one thing is guaranteed, Whenever you see Saif Ali Khan on the screen, You might end up breaking your seat while laughing. Puja Gupta has minimal screen space on the screen but she looks hot. The film belongs to the boys actually.
Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D. K churned out a decent and enjoyable flick on Zombie Genre which they also insist calling a ‘Zom -Com’.
There are flaws in the film along with a slightly dragging second hour, But the entertainment factor makes you forgive and forget. The bottom line is, It’s really not easy for a Film maker to make audience digest a genre which they are not familiar with.
But Raj and D. K makes a film which makes you aware of the Zombie Genre and entertains you at the same time, And here lies their victory.
The film’s music is already a chart-buster. Especially the songs “Slowly Slowly”, “Baba Ki Booty” and “Khoon Choos Le” which is presently the Youth-Favorite.
Production values of the film is an A Class. Despite of a Goa-City based script, The film gives you an international look. Thanks to the amazing camerawork which is handled very well. Editing required a trimming in the second hour.
The film is made keeping the Youth Culture in mind, and will definitely attract the Youth. Go Goa Gone is funny, whacky and a roller coaster ride of craziness.
