Recitation organisation Projanmo Kantho is celebrating its third founding anniversary though a two-day programme at the Teacher-Student Centre in Dhaka University. The celebration, which began on Friday, will culminate with the maiden show of the group’s second full-length production to be held at the TSC auditorium at 7pm today. The show will be preceded by a discussion where Golam Kuddus, president of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, and senior recitation artistes Rafiqul Islam and Mohammad Ahkamullah. The production, titled Bhalobasar Drishya-kabya (Picture-Poetry of Love), was scripted and directed by Ahmed Imtiez Sabbir, and features compiled pieces of poetry, music and choreography to present a story of two strangers who meet on an isolated railway station one night. The two, although coming from different backgrounds, find themselves bonding despite the seemingly dissimilar realities of their lives. Bhalobasar Drishya-kabya follows Feriwala (Street Seller), the first production of Projanmo Kantho which was premiered on October 31, 2013 at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library.
On Friday, the group organised a colourful procession that moved through different streets of DU and released air-inflated balloons to observe their third founding anniversary.
